“Sasol is committed to the transformation of the communities near our operations and views education as an enabler to improving the lives of people in these communities.
Throughout the years, Sasol has prioritised investing in education through various interventions such as providing bursaries to institutions of higher learning, infrastructure support to schools and Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres in the form of mobile classrooms, classroom refurbishment and mobile science laboratories to name a few,” said Mr Simon Baloyi, senior vice president: regional operations and asset services.
Some of the learners who received awards appreciated Sasol and said they are encouraged to work hard at tertiary institutions and want to come back to make changes in their communities.
“I have received five distinctions. Although it was difficult because of Covid-19, Sasol supported us with its science programmes, such as the mobile lab that was a big tool for me and gave me these outcomes,” said Tumelo Mashiloane from Vukuqhakaze Secondary School in Leandra.
