UPDATE: Death toll now four, after critically injured patient dies in Ermelo Provincial Hospital

One of the critically injured patients that was involved in an accident on 28 March, died later in the casualty ward at the Ermelo Provincial Hospital.

28 March – 11.24am

Three people in a VW Polo died in an accident at the corner of Church and Voortrekker Street in Ermelo on 28 March.

The Polo and an Amarok were involved in the accident.

According to Mr Hannes Nagel, paramedic of ER24, there were six people in the Polo of which two sustained critical injuries, one sustained slight injuries and three died on the scene.

The two occupants who sustained critical injuries were transported by Ermelo Provincial Ambulance and the one occupant with slight injuries was transported by ER24 to Ermelo Provincial Hospital.

None of the occupants in the Amarok was injured.

ER24, EMS, Ermelo Police, Msukaligwa Fire and Rescue, ETS Towing, Ermelo Forensics and traffic officers were on the scene.
