Force Maps in Ermelo hosts dyno tuning competition

If you have the need for speed and everything ‘vrooom’, then Force Maps was the place to be over the past weekend, June 19.

They hosted a dyno tuning competition which saw 12 car enthusiasts taking part.

Ms Joelien Nel, owner of Force Maps, explained that a dyno test is conducted to check a vehicle’s power output.

This is measured in Kilowatt (Kw) and torque (Nm).

The winner in the rear-wheel-drive division, was Mr Pieter van der Merwe, with his Nissan Skyline.

His vehicle put out an impressive 288kw and 424nm.

Mr Jozi Texiera with his Mazda Rustler 2.0 16v turbo, took the honours in the front-wheel-drive division.

His outputs were 281kw and 395nm.

Ms Nel thanked everyone who supported the event and said it was a huge success.
