Eskom appeals to public to reduce usage of electricity during upcoming cold front

Eskom has not implemented loadshedding since June 13 however, the cold front will increase the demand for electricity which might see its introduction.

ERMELO – The South African Weather Service has warned that a cold front is expected to sweep the country this week.

After the warning, Eskom also appealed to the public to reduce electricity usage as the cold conditions will put severe pressure on the power utility.

According to a media statement from Eskom, the system is currently performing relatively well and Eskom is not expecting to implement loadshedding at this point.

Eskom has not implemented loadshedding since June 13 however, the cold front will increase the demand for electricity which might see its introduction.

“Eskom will communicate this to the public should there be any significant changes to the performance of the system.”
