July marks an important day in the global calendar where companies and individuals do selfless acts of giving to celebrate former President Nelson Mandela’s legacy.
Representatives of Sasol visited vaccination centres at Standerton Hospital and Lillian Ngoyi Centre in Secunda on Tuesday, July 20.
Sasol’s spokesman, Ms Nomia Machebe said in a press release, that this is in support of the Mpumalanga Department of Health’s vaccination rollout efforts in the community of Secunda.
Sasol has prepared care-packs, which include warm beverages and hand sanitisers, for the community that will be at the centres to be vaccinated as well as snack packs for the hospital staff.
These packs comprise of a sandwich, a water bottle, energy sweets and coffee mugs.
The purpose of this initiative that honours Madiba’s legacy is two-fold, to boost the morale of healthcare workers, and also to encourage communities to get the Covid-19 vaccine.
“Sasol is encouraging everyone who is eligible for the vaccine to register as soon as possible, and be part of the solution that curbs the spread of Covid-19,” said Ms Mashudu Ndou, vice president and head of Corporate and Community Affairs at Sasol.
“This Mandela Month, Sasol would like to thank all healthcare workers for their noble sacrifice and bravery in the face of the pandemic.”
With the 35 to 49-year-olds now qualifying to register for the Covid-19 vaccination, Sasol believes that people are now turning the tide against the collective fight against the pandemic.
Sasol commended everyone who all ready registered or received the vaccination.
