Disabled man pulled from wheelchair in the nick of time

A pedestrian had to pull the man off his wheelchair to ensure he did not sustain any injuries.

ERMELO – A truck driver allegedly drove into the side of a disabled man’s wheelchair when he made a sharp turn in Border Street on August 27.

The disabled man is about 65 years of age.

An eyewitness said a pedestrian had to pull the man off his wheelchair to ensure he did not sustain injuries.

According to information received the owner of the truck is currently in Ermelo and is allegedly willing to pay for the damages or buy a new wheelchair for the disabled man.

Msukaligwa Fire and Rescue Services as well as traffic officials were on the scene
