Phelophepa Health Care Train comes to town

“The train has a fully functional healthcare clinic, eye care clinic, dental clinic, and a counselling and psychology clinic,” he said.

CAROLINA – The Phelophepa Healthcare Train will be at the Carolina Train Station from September 13 to 24, excluding weekends.

According to Mr Thapelo Phetla, the spokesman for Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality, the Transnet Phelophepa train offers healthcare services to local residents.

“The train has a fully functional healthcare clinic, eye care clinic, dental clinic, and a counselling and psychology clinic,” he said.

Children 15 years and younger receive free care.

Mr Phetla said all services are offered on a first come, first served basis.
He advised residents to bring along their clinic cards and children’s immunisation certificates.

“If you’re required to undergo further tests and get special medical care, there might be additional costs involved,” he said.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early to avoid long queues.

Mr Phetla said as the country is continuing to fight Covid-19, vaccinations will also be provided on-site.

“All Covid-19 safety precautions and regulations apply,” he concluded.
