GBV is a no-go for Cullinan Police

Men and women were urged to refrain from any form of crime against women and children and further encouraged to break the silence against domestic violence.

The Cullinan Police Social Crime Prevention Unit embarked on an awareness campaign against gender-based violence (GBV) and as sexual offences.

Following several rape cases, as well as the successful arrests of rape suspects, members of the Crime Prevention Unit, the communication office and the Victim Friendly Room members took to the streets on Wednesday, November 10, to promote awareness against GBV.

“Men and women in attendance were urged to refrain from any form of crime against women and children and further encouraged to break the silence against domestic violence,” the Cullinan Police communication officer, Const Connie Moganedi, said.

According to Const Moganedi, residents have also been sensitised with information about the forms of GBV and were provided with preventative tips against sexual offences.
