Funtazia pre-schoolers read aloud
Funtazia Pre-school took part in WRAD on Wednesday, February 2, and all ages were encouraged to read aloud.
World Read Aloud Day (WRAD) was created in 2010 by LitWorld, a non-profit organisation believing in the power of reading.
Since then there are an annual WRAD across the world.
In all spheres of life, there are children and also adults, who struggle to read.
LitWorld’s mission is to strengthen children and communities through the power of stories.
According to research, reading aloud has many benefits.
It can for instance, guide children to become more attentive and confident readers.
Reading aloud can also sharpen focus and help to improve vocabulary.
Experts say that it improves literacy skills and it gives children the literacy foundation they need to develop their reading and writing skills and to imagine and create their futures.
It builds bonds, it fosters empathy and improves attention spans.
Funtazia Pre-school took part in WRAD on Wednesday, February 2, and all ages were encouraged to read aloud.
“Even the very little ones could listen to a story being read by a teacher. This way we encourage the children form a very young age to read,” said Pauline Plotz, principal at Funtazia Pre-school.
