Rethabiseng netball clubs commemorate the fallen
The champions of the day were the Golden Eagle Netball Club.
A netball day was held on March 21 at the Rethabiseng Sports Centre in remembrance and honour of those who lost their lives in the 1960 Sharpeville massacre.
The teams were from the township and the informal settlements in Rethabiseng. The champions of the day were the Golden Eagle Netball Club. Ocean City Netball Club took second place.
The (Department of Sport, Arts, Culture & Recreation) Recreation North Corridor Tshwane sponsored the prize.
David Mahlangu, the head coach for the Golden Eagle Netball Club, said, “I believe sports bring people together, and it speaks a language everyone can understand.”
