Bethal Court denies bail to alleged murderer of three family members

The man’s wife was wounded while her father, sister and brother-in-law were gunned down.

The Bethal Regional Court denied Mthunzi Nkabinde (44) bail on April 11 and postponed his case for trial at the Delmas High Court from October 7 to 14.

Nkabinde, accused of fatally shooting three members of his family-in-law, faces three counts of murder and one of attempted murder.

Nkabinde allegedly went to his in-law’s house at Ext 4, Kanana Section, where an argument erupted between him and his wife. When she tried to run away from him, he shot her in the leg and neck.

Her father, sister and brother-in-law were gunned down. The shooting happened in front of a 13-year-old.

It was reported that Nkabinde drove to Ermelo, where he handed himself to the police station. The Ermelo police confiscated the firearm.

The wife survived her wounds.
