According to Constable Busi Mthethwa, the eMbalenhle police spokesperson, foetuses are found weekly in eMbalenhle.
Mthethwa said at times, two or three foetuses are reported in one week, confirming the serious problem.
“We ask the community to assist us in fighting this crime. Maybe those doing it are unaware that it is a serious crime punishable by law.
“We, as the police, appeal to the community to report anyone they see doing illegal abortion. Let us all fight this crime,” said Mthethwa.
