Alleged rapist from Secunda dies in prison

A 64-year-old man who appeared in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on June 13 died in his prison cell at Bethal Prison on June 27.

He allegedly had a heart attack.

The man was arrested last year and charged with possession of pornography and rape after he allegedly raped a young girl at a local private primary school.

He had been in custody since his arrest.
