Little ones in Bronkhorstspruìt enjoy Christmas party
During 2024, Lebone focussed on supporting Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres.
The Ekukhanyeni Day Care Centre in Ezithobeni, in Bronkhorstspruit, received a welcoming early Christmas on November 21 when the little ones got a visit from AVBOB.
Led by Nakedi Pilane, AVBOB’s executive director of business development financial services and her dedicated team, visited Ekukhanyeni and in doing so they reaffirmed their commitment to uplifting communities.
“The Lebone initiative, meaning light, embodies the organisation’s mission to bring the light of shared value and positive impact on communities across South Africa,” said Lebogang Selibi, AVBOB public relations specialist.
During 2024, the Lebone focussed on supporting early childhood development (ECD) centres. At Ekukhanyeni, AVBOB staff painted classrooms and repaired outdoor equipment, including ablution facilities, among other essential improvements.
“AVBOB also contributed educational toys aimed at helping children develop their fine motor skills and problem-solving abilities. These resources make learning enjoyable while ensuring children receive a solid foundation for their future education,” Selibi added.
According to Pilane, AVBOB’s commitment to improving ECDs is part of an ongoing initiative to address the socioeconomic challenges of many South African communities.

In 2023, The Mutual Assurance Society launched a programme focused on enhancing the quality of education for preschool learners in underserved areas.
“This initiative is one example of the society’s broader corporate social investment (CSI) strategy, which invests in education at all levels, from early childhood to high school, to empower young South Africans with the tools they need for success,” Pilane added.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to impact Ekukhanyeni. We aim is to build sound foundations for future generations, supporting their growth and development through meaningful interventions.
“Giving is a universally resonant celebration that surpasses religion or culture. It embodies goodness, togetherness, and the spirit of appreciation, making it a cherished time for people of all cultures,” Pilane concluded.
“Through this initiative and others like it, AVBOB continues to invest in the future of South Africa’s children, providing them with the resources they need to thrive in school and beyond.”
Anna Sithole, principal of Ekukhanyeni Day Care Centre, said: “We are thankful for everything that has unfolded today. Your love, care, and unwavering support mean the world to us. We ask that you continue to spread this kindness, just as you have done for us.”
