Karatekas from Standerton excel at Mpumalanga championships

Melyne Sehar, Amelia Sehar and Jaco Loretz each earned gold medals in both categories.

The nine karatekas from the Skisa Three Swords Dojo held the Standerton flag high when they participated in the Mpumalanga championships in Secunda on February 8.

Newcomers Owethu Ndlovu and Annelize Olivier did well. Ndlovu won gold for kumite and silver for kata, while Olivier won gold for kata.

CP le Roux received bronze medals for both categories. Melyne Sehar, Amelia Sehar and Jaco Loretz each earned gold medals in both categories.

Ricardo van Wyngaard received a gold medal for kumite and a bronze for kata, followed by Shyam Daya, who received bronze for kata and silver for kumite.

Oarabile Moshoeshoe achieved a gold medal for kumite and fifth place for kata.
