Sergeant Cynthia Mtshweni, spokesperson for eMzinoni police, said the latest scam comes from a man, allegedly called Wiseman Sifiso Mahlangu, using police to get victims who are computer literate and general workers.

Police are warning the community not to fall prey to fake job scams doing the rounds.

Sergeant Cynthia Mtshweni, spokesperson for eMzinoni police, said the latest scam comes from a man, allegedly called Wiseman Sifiso Mahlangu, using police to get victims who are computer literate and general workers.

“The suspect will tell the victims to do fingerprints, get certified copies of their ID and three months’ banking statements and then demands an amount of money be sent via cash or E-wallet before he puts your name on a list for a medical,” Mtshweni said.

She said no jobs are for sale and the community must not fall prey to this scam.

If you are a victim of this scam or can help lead police to an arrest contact Mtshweni on 072 438 0978.
