Calista and Zorse’s Canter4Cancer journey is on track
“It is more than a solidarity endeavor; it is a collective moment and the public’s contribution will support CANSA.”
Calista Schütte and her companion, a horse CK Azreal, nicknamed Zorse, completed 135km of the intended 400km for the Canter4 Cancer initiative.
“We are well on track. For March we completed 135km and only have 120km left to accomplish our goal of 400km,” Calista told Streeknews.
As published in Streeknews on February 28, Calista and Zorse commenced on this journey on February 4, which is World Cancer Day, to raise money for CANSA, traversing the scenic hillsides of Cullinan, tranquil fields of Donkerhoek and the streets of Rayton.
Calista’s mother, Beverley Kaffa, was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in 2011. After a double mastectomy, chemo- and radiation, Beverley survived cancer and 14 years later is alive to tell her story.

“For that reason, CANSA is close to my heart. Every stride during this demanding 400km Canter4Cancer symbolises the unwavering determination required to fight cancer,” Calista told Streeknews.
Calista requested the public to support her and Zorse’s Canter for Cancer initiative to raise money for CANSA.
“It is more than a solidarity endeavour; it is a collective moment and the public’s contribution will support CANSA in its dedication to research, advocacy and patient support since 1931.
