Golfers compete in corporate day in Evander
The money raised in Walker Park Golf Club's first annual Corporate Golf Day will go towards upgrades and maintenance for the club.
Walker Park Golf Club hosted its first annual corporate day on April 16, with 108 players teeing off. The format was a four-ball alliance scramble drive, with two scores to count.
Money raised on the day are going towards upgrades and maintenance for the club. The first-place winners with 109 points were André Nienaber, Mario Klink, Justin Crowley and Cobus Smit.
Johan Van Jaarsveldt, Christo Van Jaarsveldt, Butch Collet and At Van Jaarsveldt finished in second place on 103 points.
Third place was Brandon Russell, Hannes Henderson, Lindi Van Der Merwe and Vicky Stols on 102 points. Ending in fourth place on 100 points were Tiaan Meyer, Luaan Meyer, Jannie Louw and Christo Annandale.
Nearest to the pin on numbers eight and 13 was Mario Klink. Erik Snyman was nearest to the pin on number 15. The longest drive played, for the men, was by Tommie Ries on number 17 and Stefan Pieterse on number 18.
The longest drive for the women was Lindi van der Merwe on number 12 and Vicky Stoltz on number 18. The Marshmallow Drive went to Tiaan Meyer.
