Evander Magistrate’s Court postpones kidnapping and murder case to July

The case against four suspects accused of kidnapping and murdering Sifiso Khubeka has been postponed to July 30 by the Evander Magistrate’s Court.

The Evander Magistrate’s Court has postponed the case against four suspects accused of the kidnapping and murder of the late Sifiso Khubeka.

Nonhlanhla Nkosi, Mandla Skhosana, Sbusiso Skhosana, and Seun Mpika appeared in court on May 13. The matter has now been postponed to July 30.

Khubeka’s lifeless body was discovered at the Roodebank Dam with his hands and legs bound, according to police reports.

He was reported missing in April last year. His vehicle was later found abandoned near the old Bracken Mine.

At the time of his disappearance, his sister, Zinhle Khubeka, told the Ridge Times that the family became concerned when Sifiso did not return home after visiting a friend.

Repeated calls to his cellphone went unanswered, prompting the family to report him missing to the police. The investigation led to the arrest of the four suspects, who now face charges of kidnapping and murder.
