Two suspect arrested in eMbalenhle for possession of stolen goods

Among the items seized were televisions, microwaves, and various household appliances.

Two suspects were arrested in Ext 19, eMbalenhle, on May 15 for possession of suspected stolen goods following a joint operation between the police and DA Mading security company.

The arrests came after the police received a tip-off from the security company about suspected illegal activities at a house in Extension 19.

Upon arrival and searching, officers discovered one suspect in possession of items believed to be stolen.

According to eMbalenhle police spokesperson Constable Busi Mthethwa, the first suspect later led officers to another location in Extension 17, where his alleged accomplice resided.

Additional suspected stolen items were recovered at that residence, and a second suspect was arrested.

eMbalenhle SAPS arrested two suspects for the possession of suspected stolen property.

It is alleged that the suspects admitted to stealing some of the recovered goods from Leandra. Among the items seized were televisions, microwaves, and various household appliances.

Constable Mthethwa noted that several recent house robberies in the area appeared to share similar characteristics, suggesting that the same group of criminals could be involved.

The eMbalenhle and Leandra SAPS have renewed their call for public assistance in light of these events. They urge anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of suspects involved in the recent string of house robberies reported since early April to come forward.

Mthethwa said the case was referred to Leandra police because most of the items were allegedly stolen from Leandra.
