Nita Botha celebrates 50th run at Bronkhorstspruit parkrun milestone event
Nita Botha celebrated her 50th run at the 244th Bronkhorstspruit parkrun, while Dane Coetzee hit 25 runs with a personal best.
Nita Botha achieved her 50th run milestone at the 244th parkrun in Bronkhorstspruit on June 21. Some 48 people completed the 5km route, starting at Ubuhle Christian School near the Bronkhorstspruit Dam.
Dane Coetzee achieved a 25th run milestone with a new personal best time. She completed the route a mere second behind the first finisher, Gerdian Coetzee.
Other parkrunners who set new personal best times: MC Venter, Charlene du Plessis, Matsidiso Mkhabela, Joshua van Wyk, Marcus van Wyk, Daniel Van, Francois Walters and Suné Walters.

This parkrun also welcomed nine first-timers: Ashley Rider, Jurgens P Prinsloo, Jurgen Prinsloo, Benjamin Ridgard, Marina Prinsloo, Jacqueline Rider, Shaylyn Gordon, Larochelle Nel and Ivy Kruger.
The volunteers who made the event possible: André de Lange, Moonilal Dunmun, Gonasagree Govender, Drienie Opperman, Jaco Pretorius, Bhavna Rampersadh, Despina Rockas, Filia Rockas, Rina Roos (timekeeper) and Casper Strydom, the run director.
With this event done, Bhavna Rampersadh can boast of being a volunteer for the 162nd time. If you want to get moving this winter, join the parkrun at 08:00 each Saturday.
