WATCH: Locals threaten to close down foreign-owned shops in eMbalenhle

The Govan Mbeki First Movement is demanding that foreign-owned shops be closed.

The Govan Mbeki First Movement is demanding that foreign-owned shops be closed until the suspect, who allegedly shot and killed a 28-year-old man in Extension 12, eMbalenhle, on September 13, is handed over.

Leaders of foreign nationals in the area claim they do not know the whereabouts of the suspect. However, Gracious Shabangu, General Secretary of the Govan Mbeki First Movement, dismissed these claims as “rubbish.”

He demanded that the suspect be surrendered within 48 hours, or foreign-owned businesses would be shut down until the suspect is found.

eMbalenhle Police Station Commander, Colonel Khuselwa Matrose, stated that the police want the suspect to be arrested and brought to justice.
