Lekwa appoints new Chief Financial Officer

Khumbudzo Nemavhidi was previously an audit manager at the office of the auditor general of South Africa.

The Lekwa Local Municipality welcomed Khumbudzo Nemavhidi as CFO on November 3. According to Lubabalo Majenge, spokesperson for the LLM, Nemavhidi is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in auditing and financial management.

He is ethically driven and has served for over 12 years as stakeholders liaison manager and audit manager at the office of the auditor general of South Africa.

During these 12 years, he was responsible for local and provincial government audits. He holds a bachelor of accountancy from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, has a professional RGA qualification and is a member of the South African Institute of Government Auditors.

“He brings deep expertise in financial governance, compliance and performance accountability,” stated Majenge.

According to Majenge, his career reflects a steadfast commitment to transparency, integrity and sound financial stewardship.
Majenge stated that Nemavhidi will apply his comprehensive understanding of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Generally Recognised Accounting Practice standards and audit controls to strengthen financial controls, foster a culture of accountability and enhance service delivery to the role of CFO.

“He possesses extensive knowledge of the Municipal Finance Management Act, Public Finance Management Act and National Treasury Regulations,” concluded Majenge.
