Marietjie School for Learners with Special Educational Needs held their annual sponsor day on November 26. The school principal, Santé Barnard, thanked all the sponsors for their contributions to the school.
“Broken crayons still colour,” said Barnard.
“Thank you for being the hands that strengthen us. These children show us every day what can be done in a child’s life if they are given education.”
She described it as an honour to work with children with disabilities every day. Barnard said she had learnt many lessons from the children, one of which is to always give 100%.
She also thanked her staff for consistently giving 100% and even 200% in their work. The children performed several songs for their audience, showcasing their talents and efforts.
