Over 2 000 wellness enthusiasts flocked to Standerton for the fourth annual event.

Seriti New Denmark hosted the fourth annual Seriti Wellness Day at Laerskool Kalie de Haas on December 6. Seriti employees and their families could enjoy the day’s festivities along with several activities to promote fitness and healthy living.

Fitness enthusiasts from Middelburg, Klipspruit, New Vaal, Khutala, New Denmark, and Kriel reported at 05:00 to register for the day.

Golfers arrived at the Standerton Country Club at 06:00 to start a long day on the course.

The day kicked off with a relay, fun runs, athletics, and cycling, followed by intense games of soccer and netball, chess games, and several other wellness team activities.

Those who attended quenched their thirst with a variety of slushies, cold drinks, and plenty of water to stay hydrated.

One stall offered delicious smoothies, on the condition that attendees blended them themselves by stepping on a stationary bike for 45 seconds.

According to Thabo Masike, head of corporate and community relations at Seriti New Denmark, a different branch of the Seriti family hosts this event each year.

Masike explained that this event is Seriti’s way of proactively promoting healthy living.

“This event extends to families and friends of Seriti employees and is made successful by the workers who spread the importance of wellness to their families,” said Masike.
