Khula-Sakhile Secondary School in Standerton brags with its top achievers

Alusizo Nkosi was the top achiever with an average of 81% and four distinctions.

Khula-Sakhile Secondary School celebrated a 77.8% pass rate for its 2025 matriculants. The Standerton Advertiser asked its top achievers what comes next.

Alusizo Nkosi was the top achiever with an average of 81% and four distinctions. She said her final exam was challenging, but also rewarding because her hard work had paid off.

Her favorite subject was mathematics. When Alusizo began school as a Grade One learner, she wanted to become a teacher, but she has since changed her mind. She is now planning on pursuing a career in mechatronics engineering.

Alusizo’s favorite high school memory is the unofficial classes she held with her friends in the mornings before they wrote exams.
Her hobbies include reading and writing.

In 10 years, Alusizo hopes to make a global impact as a successful engineer. The school’s second-best achiever is Zinzi Solontsi.

Zinzi said her matric year was difficult because she had to deal with the loss of her mother, but she persevered and exceeded her academic goals.

She enjoyed mathematical literacy because the subject helped her unlock her full potential. Zinzi too wanted to become a teacher when she was in Grade One because she believed that teachers had the power to keep children in school and away from drugs.

Today, Zinzi aims for an LLB and hopes to be a qualified attorney within the next 10 years. Ntando Mazibuko is the third-highest achiever at this school with an average of 76% and two distinctions.

Ntando explained that her final exams were a wild ride, filled with stress and self-doubt, but she managed to pull through thanks to plenty of study time.

Mazibuko had always wanted to be a gynaecologist, but decided to take a gap year to find herself after school. During this time, Ntando will enjoy her hobby of reading.

“I’m a total bookworm; there is something about getting lost in a good story that I love,” said Ntando.

In ten years, Ntando sees herself having grown professionally and personally, working in a fulfilling career.
