Fathers and sons connect at event in eMzinoni

The co-ordinator of Men’s Voice said there is an increasing concern over the lack of father figures in many households.

The Men’s Voice organisation held a Men and Boys Engagement on March 4 at Ext 4 Sports Ground in eMzinoni, aimed at restoring dignity, building bonds, and promoting positive father figures within the community.

According to Doctor Thanjekwayo, the co-ordinator of Men’s Voice, the initiative was driven by increasing concern over the lack of father figures in many households. Thanjekwayo also said the engagement aimed to bridge the generational gap between men and boys while tackling social challenges such as GBV.

“The event brought together fathers and sons for a friendly soccer tournament, followed by open conversations about fatherhood, GBV, responsibility, and the importance of strong family bonds,” said Thanjekwayo.
