Mpumalanga ANC denies receiving resignation letter from Govan Mbeki Municipality MMC
Jabu Zwane submitted his resignation letter to the municipality on May 28, stating he was stepping down due to unresolved issues within the ANC.
The ANC in Mpumalanga has dismissed reports that Ward 14 councillor and MMC for Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Jabu Zwane, has resigned. Provincial ANC secretary Muzi Chirwa confirmed that his office has not received a resignation letter from Zwane.
“The ANC in Mpumalanga confirms it has not received a resignation letter from Clr Jabu Zwane. The media will be informed if there are new developments,” said Chirwa.
Zwane submitted his resignation letter to the municipality on May 28, stating he was stepping down due to unresolved issues within the ANC, which he had raised multiple times without a response. He wrote that he was resigning from the Govan Mbeki municipal council and the ANC.
When the Ridge Times spoke to Zwane about the circulating letter, he confirmed his resignation but said he would comment on his decision when the time was right. Zwane has not participated in municipal activities since handing in his resignation.
