Three incidents on the road in Secunda happen minutes apart
Woman dies of asthma attack, a delivery man crashed his motorbike into a car and two cars collide in CBD.
With three separate incidents happening minutes apart from each other in Secunda, emergency and towing services were kept on their toes at the start of the long weekend, today, June 15.
In the first incident, a 60/60 delivery man sustained minor injuries when his motorcycle crashed into the back of a vehicle by Hoërskool Secunda in Oliver Tambo Drive at around 16:40.
The motorcyclist allegedly drove into the vehicle from the parking/school drop-off point.
He was transported to Evander Hospital for observation.
In the second incident, emergency services responded to an accident that happened at around 16:30, where two vehicles collided at the CBD traffic lights along Oliver Tambo Drive and PDP Kruger Street.
According to people on the scene, one of the vehicles had skipped a red traffic light, colliding with the other.
No injuries were reported.
A sad ending in the third incident involved a 59-year-old woman, who had to pull over her vehicle to the side of the road next to Proconics, by the four-way stop in PDP Kruger Street, when suffering an asthma attack at around 16:50.
Good Samaritans and the team of the municipal fire department came to the woman’s aid and tried all efforts to save her life.
When the ER24 paramedic arrived at the scene, the woman showed no signs of life and was pronounced dead at around 17:40.
The woman’s husband, son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren were on the scene when they received the sad news.
