Young rugby star from eMba will represent SA in Italy

Lebohang Mashiloane needs R47 000 for travel costs.

Lebohang Mashiloane, a rugby player from eMbalenhle, was selected for the South African team that will compete in an annual tournament in Italy from December 6 to 15.

Mashiloane took part in the KHS Best of the West Easter Festival, hosted by Krugersdorp High School at the beginning of April, where he was selected for the team.

Lebohang, a learner at Evander High School, plays for the eMbalenhle Rugby Club. He is also an Eye of the Tiger Academy player.

Lebohang’s coach, Suffocate Ngwenya, is grateful they have chosen this local player to take part abroad. However, they face financial difficulties.

The young player needs money to travel to and from the tournament. According to Ngwenya, the travel cost is R47 000.

He appealed to the community and businesses to make Lebohang’s dream come true.

Ngwenya believes Lebohang will bring back new experiences from his trip to Italy, and this will encourage other players to work hard.

Anyone who wants to contribute can contact Ngwenya on 072 159 2623 or 076 443 9191.
