KSS said cable theft is everyone’s problem and not just a petty crime.

Kasselman Security Services (KSS) indicated on August 24 that burglars broke into a business on Walter Sisulu Street.

The Stanwest area also had its share of intruders the same day when they targeted Colling Street.

Intruders broke into an unoccupied residence in Leask Street, Meyerville on August 23.

Cable theft also took place in Vry Street the past week.

Jannie Kasselman previously urged residents to be vigilant during load-shedding. KSS said cable theft is everyone’s problem and not just a petty crime.

Security officers, SAPS, community patrols, neighbourhood watches and residents have to protect the infrastructure in the Standerton area during load-shedding.

Call KSS on 017 200 1407 or 083 268 2446 if you notice any threat to infrastructure.

Lekwa Municipality said replacing the cables can be anything from R18 000 to R30 000, or more.

Lekwa previously urged the community to report cable theft at the nearest police station.
