eMbalenhle Police say goat is evidence
Mdhluli said according to their records and the information from the management of the eMbalenhle police station, there was a report of livestock that was stolen from eMbalenhle.
The goat that was recently spotted on the back of an eMbalenhle police vehicle in Bethal is evidence in a stock theft case.
A member of the public took a photo of the police vehicle from eMbalenhle in the parking lot at Bethal Mall on October 20.
The animal was tied up in the back. This caused a stir on social media as residents from eMbalenhle are fed up with the police.
The deputy minister of police recently visited eMbalenhle where he heard that police vehicles are seldom available to attend to community complaints.

The Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, confirmed the goat was evidence in a case.
Mdhluli said the theft of livestock was reported to the eMbalenhle police and a member from the rural safety section followed up on information that led him to the Bethal area.
The goat was recovered on the day the photo was taken.
“We put it on record that SAPS vehicles may be used to transport confiscated or recovered goods or items.”
He said that the police still encourage the community to report the abuse of state resources to the authorities.
