Councillor starts social events for the elderly in Cullinan

These events held every Wednesday is a way for the elderly to meet new people.

Social Wednesday is now a thing in Ward 100.

Ward Clr Johannes Bekker began these social events every Wednesday in Cullinan so that residents could interact with each other and enjoy a one-on-one session with their ward councillor.

“Social activities are a crucial part of human life because they are the things that assist to connect with others, to build relationships and to have fun. This is an essential component of a healthy and fulfilling life.

“Whether introverts or extroverts, people all need some level of social interaction to feel connected to others and safe,” said Bekker.

The most recent event was a Bingo day.
