Bronkies resident has her sight on Miss Grand SA title

“A Miss Grand International is more than just a beauty queen; she serves as a global ambassador for peace, goodwill, and inspiration”.

Nomasonto Tshabalala, a 23-year-old woman from Bronkhorstspruit, is a finalist in the Miss Grand South Africa for 2025.

Nomasonto is both beautiful and intelligent.

After she matriculated from the Ekangala Comprehensive High School, she obtained a triple degree in Public Governance with Public Administration and Labour Relations Management from North West University.

She currently works as a crime prevention warden.

“I serve my community through advocating against gender-based violence,” Nomasonto told Streeknews.
“This is one reason I entered Miss Grand South Africa.”

“Apart from personal growth and gain; I also want to use this platform to amplify the voices and the cause for the people who want to enjoy the same freedom as everyone in a democratic country.”

If Nomasonto wins this competition, she will represent South Africa on the Miss Grand International stage in Thailand.

“A Miss Grand International is more than a beauty queen; she serves as a global ambassador for peace, goodwill, and inspiration,” explained Nomasonto.

“The pageant has primarily been focusing on humanitarian issues with the reigning titleholders dedicating their year to work as the organisation’s spokesperson and being involved in charity events,” Nomasonto added.

She told Streeknews her role model is the late Helen Suzman.

Nomasonto Tshabalala from Bronkhorstspruit is a finalist in the 2025 Miss Grand South Africa pageant.

“Although she is no more with us, she fought relentlessly for human rights and justice. I sincerely wish to one day leave a legacy like that”.

She is grateful for her family; they have been her cheerleaders since she joined pageantry.

“Their support does not go unnoticed.”

“Thank you to my amazing friends and colleagues who continue to believe in me, support me, and always take the time to vote for me.”

“Their faith in me means the world,” Nomasonto added.

Nomasonto told Streeknews the final crowning ceremony is on June 28 at the Theatre of Marcellus, Emperors Palace.

“I hope to make my hometown, friends, family and supporters proud,” Nomasonto concluded.
