Lekwa celebrates babies born on Christmas

Executive Mayor, Sifiso Mngemezulu and the MMC for Community Services and Safety, Mapaseka Molaba visited the hospital to greet these tiny bundles of joy.

The Lekwa Local Municipality visited Standerton Hospital on December 25 to share in the joy of babies born on Christmas Day and spread warmth to children hospitalised over the festive season.

During the visit, the Executive Mayor, Sifiso Mngemezulu; the MMC for Community Services and Safety, Mapaseka Molaba; and the hospital’s CEO, Nhlanhla Dladla, gave gifts to mothers who had given birth on Christmas Day.

They visited the paediatric ward to spend time with children hospitalised over Christmas. They also showed appreciation to the midwives on duty and commended them for their hard work and dedication.

The day was more festive as there were no reported casualties on Christmas Eve.
