Cosplay and parkrun go well together in Standerton

13 of the 106 finishers clocked new personal best times.

A total of 106 people completed the 342nd Riverpark parkrun in Standerton on Saturday. Several participants heeded the call to dress up in cosplay outfits for this event, where 13 finishers also clocked new personal best times.

They are Sinyegwe Tshilidzi (43:16), Jeremia Mngomezulu (35:16), Lesney Molepo (36:58), Tobie Pretorius (38:58), Petro Jaars (41:16), Vanessa Prinsloo (41:25), Noxolo Ndlazi (42:01), Emily Lucia Madonsela (46:11), Nompumelelo Mchunu (48:42), Zamahlubi Tshabalala (53:40), Ida Mouton (57:19) and Portia Khuthala Mwelase (57:50).

Young Snethemba Mthimba, on his first run, was the first to complete the 5km route. He did this in 20:08.

Second was Pieter Jansen van Vuuren (21:06), followed by Thabo Patrick Tsotetsi (22:26), Petra van der Linde (22:28), Syanda Njabulo (23:20), Lunga Ayabonga (23:36), Onalerona Thobedi (25:26), Eugene Viljoen (25:51), Jayden Kent (25:53) and Mxolisi Dludla (26:21).

The volunteers who made this event possible were Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Susan Laufs, Renette de Sousa, Danie Laufs, Lydia Roets, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Johannes Vosloo, Daniel Wright, Noluthando Zweni and Leandri van Wyk.
