Bowls players play for top spots in Novices Club Competition in Secunda

Men and women compete in a two-day Novices Club Competition at the Secunda Bowling Club.

The Secunda Bowling Club recently hosted its Novices Club Competition from March 14 to 15 on its pristine greens at the Sasol Recreational Club.

The tournament began on Saturday with a group stage featuring 12 men and eight women. By Sunday, the field had been narrowed down to the top four in each category for the semi-finals and finals.

In the men’s division, Kevin Terry and Johann Reyneke advanced to the final after defeating Kallie Joubert and Piet Coetzee, respectively. Terry ultimately claimed the title with a 21–9 victory over Reyneke, while Joubert secured third place.

The women’s finals saw Christine Erasmus and Christelle Pendlebury battle it out, while Cecilia Reyneke and Anneli Muller competed for third and fourth place in a playoff match.
Erasmus defeated Pendlebury 21–12 to take the win, with Reyneke claiming third spot.
