Handball players from eMzinoni to represent South Africa

Luthando Khumalo and Junior Mahlangu join SA team for games in Zambia.

Two talented handball players, Luthando Khumalo from eMzinoni and Junior Mahlangu from Sukuyende Handball Club in Bethal, have been selected to represent South Africa at the upcoming international handball games in Zambia, from April 28 to May 7.

Their selection follows outstanding performances at the South African Handball Championships, held in the Free State from March 6 to 8.

The two coaches, Iggy Masuku and Dennis Nyalunga, have been assigned to coach the teams respectively. They will be assisted by female coaches Remedy Makhubele and Andiswa Ngwenya.

National selectors identified Khumalo and Mahlangu during the championships, recognising their talent and potential to compete at an international level.

The coaches expressed their gratitude to the families of all players for supporting them and allowing participation in the sport.

They also encouraged young people across the province, regardless of race or gender, to join the fast-growing sport of handball as preparations begin for next year’s championships for female players.
