Young netball stars from Secunda and Standerton compete in summer league finals at Action Sports

The junior netball summer league finals were hosted at Action Sports in Secunda from March 16 to 19.

Junior netball teams took to the courts from March 16 to 19, battling for championship titles and summer league bragging rights. The Grade R to one division saw the Ladybugs narrowly edge out the Mini Avo’s 6–5 to claim the gold.

In Grade Two, the SibaBombers secured gold with a 9–6 win over the Blitse Bytjies, while Fairy Boltz took bronze in a shoot-out when tied 4–4 against the Flamingirls. Grade Three gold went to the Action Poppy’s, who defeated the Tiny Twisters (Standerton) 13–4.

The Neon Leopards followed in third place after an 18–15 win over the Mighty Hearts. In Grade Four, the Avo-Cadio’s outpaced the Peng-Wins 21–16 for the top spot, with High Hoops (Standerton) taking bronze against the Rainbows (14–11).

In the Grade Five category, Daddy’s Daisies clinched gold with a 24–20 win over the Spotted Strikers, while Fruit Hoop’s beat the Cool Cats (Standerton) 19–13 for bronze. The Grade Six title went to the Flashing Fireflies after an 18–16 victory over the Turbo 12’ies (Standerton), with the Bos Bokkies finishing third by beating the Secunda Shooting Stars 16–12.

The Grade Seven division was dominated by the IPT U13A team, who took gold with a 25–12 win over the U13B IPT side. Rounding out the results, the IPT U12 Girls secured bronze with a 21–19 win against the Netball Ninjas Secunda.
