Dra Mekaar members celebrate Mother’s Day in Secunda

Members of the Dra Mekaar group gathered at Cappuccinos in Secunda Mall on May 13 for a special Mother’s Day celebration.

Members of the Dra Mekaar group gathered at Cappuccinos in Secunda Mall on May 13 to celebrate Mother’s Day with fellowship, music and community spirit.

The morning event opened with scripture reading and prayer led by Ds Diederich Kleynhans, setting a warm and reflective tone for the gathering.

Entertainment was provided by Andre Jonker, who delighted attendees with performances of classic favourites, including songs by Jim Reeves.

After enjoying a scrumptious breakfast, members were treated to cupcakes sponsored by Pick ’n Pay.

During the meeting, members were reminded that final donations of soup and pasta should be submitted before the next Dra Mekaar gathering on June 10.

The donations will be handed over to the Adullam Missionary.

Members were also encouraged to finalise payments for the group’s annual October holiday to De Voetpadkloof in order to secure their places.

Special birthday wishes were extended to chairperson Eileen Bezuidenhout, Barbara and Patrick Shannon, Phillip Bisschoff, Petro Moolman, Magda Visser, Philip Klopper, Loraine Keyser, Carol Hattingh, Rietjie Binneman and Joey Labuschagne.

The group’s next meeting will take place at the NG Kerk Goedehoop Gemeente. For more information, contact Bezuidenhout on 082 467 5307.
