eMbalenhle detective wounded in shooting at tavern

Preliminary reports indicate that the victims were allegedly shot by unknown suspects travelling in a white Volkswagen Polo.

eMbalenhle police are investigating a case of attempted murder following the shooting of an eMbalenhle police detective and his friend at a tavern in eMbalenhle on May 31.

According to information available, both victims were rushed to a medical facility in Extension 4 after the shooting.

The detective sustained a gunshot wound to his right thigh, while his friend was shot in the right ankle.

Both were admitted to hospital for further treatment.
