Standerton Primary School’s U9 rugby team has been crowned the 2026 Toshiba Schools Rugby League champions after completing an unbeaten campaign throughout the competition.

The tournament was hosted by Laerskool Marietjie van Niekerk at Hoërskool Hoogenhout in Bethal on June 6.

The boys faced Laerskool Kalie de Haas, Laerskool Jeugkrag, Laerskool Hoëveld, Laerskool Onverwacht, Laerskool Carolina Akademie, Laerskool Marietjie van Niekerk and MD Coovadia Primary School, emerging victorious in matches to finish top of the U9 division.

In their final fixture, Standerton Primary secured a convincing 12-0 win over Laerskool Jeugkrag to seal the league title.

The school congratulated the players on their outstanding achievement, dedication and teamwork, while also commending coach Siyabonga Masina for guiding the team to a successful and unbeaten league campaign that earned them the 2026 Toshiba Schools Rugby League U9 title.
