The results of the 2025 final exams of Grade 12s were reason for celebrations throughout the municipal area.
Here are the local highlights:
Hoërskool Hoogenhout achieved a 100% pass rate with a total of 84 distinctions.
Their top performers are Madelein Erasmus, who obtained distinctions in seven subjects, and Megan Nel, who got distinctions in six subjects.
The Highved Muslim School, with its seven matriculants, also celebrated a 100% pass rate.
Hoërskool Secunda achieved a 99.5% pass rate with a total of 181 distinctions.
Their top performers are Anina Joubert and Mia du Toit, who each achieved eight distinctions; Lesedi Motloung, Elzeri Nieuwoudt, and Juandri Fourie, who each got seven distinctions; Ruben Strydom and Carmen Rebolo, who each clinched six distinctions; and Carli Binneman, Cayla Rossouw, Qintin Pieters, Mecayla Mudrovcic, Zeldi van Zyl, and Zaheena Hassim with five distinctions each.
Curro Secunda got a 98% pass rate. The school’s top students were Siphelele Mngomezulu and Quiryn Nel with three distinctions each and Zenade Zikhali with two distinctions.
Hoërskool Oosterland secured a 97.1% pass rate with a total of 60 distinctions.
Their top performer is Lara Viljoen with five distinctions.
Hoërskool Evander has a pass rate of 92.12%.
Their top performers are Melokuhle Gushu, who celebrated four distinctions, and Boitshepo Mashego and Sukoluhle Ndlovu with three distinctions each.
Other schools and pass rates include Highveld Park High School (92.7%), Sizwakele Secondary School (91.9%), Kusasalethu Secondary School (86.4%), KI Twala Secondary School (83.9%), Vukuqhakaze Secondary School (80.7%), Chief Ampie Mayisa Secondary School (73.7%), Osizweni Secondary School (70.2%), Thomas Nhlabathi Secondary School (61.1%), Thistle Grove Combined School (56.3%), and Kiriyatswane Secondary School (55%).
