Vanity, I call this vanity, disgrace and injustice ignorantly performed to the minorities.
I have said this before, but it has not been enough for a hearing, and I repeat… injustice has been and still is at its peak towards those who are outnumbered by the oppressors.
I guess there are only 11 official languages in the country and I fail to understand the nomination criteria of such selection.
The Khoisan are the first inhabitants of what we know as South Africa today,
Yet they have just been recognised by a few letters on the National Coat of Arms.
I wonder then whether this is not an insult to the South Africans and the Khoi themselves for just flecking an unofficial language on the national emblem.
On the other hand I must congratulate them for the smallest of recognition there is.
Unlike other tribes and ethnic group (like mine), which have contributed a lot to the South African history but have never been talked about in the media or any official publication.
AmaBhaca fought against Zulu and European oppression in yesteryears, yet our forefathers’ contributions seem to be in vain, like the blow of the wind.
I would therefore like to unofficially make an official announcement to the nation that isiBhaca is a language of a Bhaca nation that has been spoken for centuries.
I further announce that amaBhaca is a tribe, Africans, South Africans and inhabitants of the universe.
We are neither Zulus nor Xhosas, therefore I refuse to be collectively classified as one of them whenever people refer to amabhaca.
Ngilibhaca lokutalwa (I am a Bhaca by birth) and I am proud of it.
I call on the government and all those in authority to help uphold the rights of the minority, while helping in liberating us from continuous oppression of our culture and heritage.
Otherwise we do not have anything to celebrate this heritage month.
