eMBALENHLE – Premeria FC began their first match of the year on a high note when they beat Mighty Stars FC 2 to 0 during the Kwa-Sechebo Promotion League at the Hostel Ground on Saturday, 11 January.
Premeria took control of the match in the first half when Ayanda Mtswene scored in the 20th minute.
Stars launched a wave of attacks after the goal, but could not catch up with the Premeria strikers.
Stars looked more energetic in the second half, but Premeria had formed a solid defence.
Premeria extended their lead when Malibongwe Tsotetsi scored the second goal.
Stars spent most of the remaining minutes defending.
In other league matches, Sasol Thistle Grove FC beat Young Stars 3 to 2, Junior Celtics FC played to a 1 all-draw against Yizo Yizo.
Officials of clubs affiliated to the Local Football Association are invited to a meeting that is going to take place at the Sasol Club at 9am on 19 January.
