Runners compete in annual race
S. Moleshioa from Midack Marathon Club won the 42.2km race of the Sasol Marathon Club’s annual Sasol Secunda Marathon on Saturday, 15 February
SECUNDA – S. Moleshioa from Midack Marathon Club won the 42.2km race of the Sasol Marathon Club’s annual Sasol Secunda Marathon on Saturday, 15 February.
His time was 2:24.
Runners could choose to run 42.2km, 21.1km or 10km.
The race began and ended at the Sasol Recreation Club.
J. Jele from Nkangala finished second with a time of 2:27 and W. Mutai from Toyota finished third with at time of 2:34.
J. Mthombeni finished fourth with a time of 2:45, L. Bhembe from Toyota came fifth with a time of 2:48, T. Da Matta from BNAC came sixth with a time of 3:4, A. Moagi from the police came seventh with a time of 3:6, M. Sitohole from Correctional Services came eight with a time of 3:6, L. Maphanga from Anglo nineth with at time of 3:7 and S. Ngoepe from Wingate came 10th with at time of 3:10.
T. Manana was the winner of the 21.1km race with a time of 1:10 with S. Sibisi from the police finishing second with a time of 1:13.
P. Chabedi from Sasol finished third with a time of 1:14 and J. Thukwane from Eskom finished fourth with a time of 1:18.
P. Pula from Nedbank finished fifth with a time of 1:19, L. Simelane came sixth with a time of 1:20, J. Mahlangeni from Eskom came seventh with a time of 1:22, S. Mashego also from Eskom came eighth with a time of 1:23, S. Nkosi came ninth with a time of 1:23 and M. Mvelase came 10th with a time of 1:26.
In the 10km race, J. Thipe from Nkangala crossed the finish line first with a time of 30 min 55 sec.
A. Thajekwato from Midack finished in the second place with a time of 31 min 35 sec and D. Zwane from Anglo came third with at time of 33 min 39 sec.
W. Hlatswayo and B. Du Plessis from Secunda Marathon Club respectively finished fourth and fifth with their times of 34 min 1 sec and 34 min 18 sec.
R. Moholoholo from Matela finished sixth with a time of 35 min 18 sec, B. Masina came seventh with a time of 37 min 14 sec, K. Dlamini from Anglo came eighth with a time of 37 min 40 sec, G. Radebe also from Anglo came ninth with at time of 39 min 3 sec and I. Mofokent from Nedbank came 10th with a time of 40 min 5 sec.
