Professional coaches squash players
Squash players were put through fitness and skills training.
SECUNDA – The Sasol Club recently hosted a squash day which was sponsored by Squash South Africa.
The aim was to introduce new players to the game while taking current squash players to a higher level.
Professional squash coach, John Lingashi from White River, along with Geoff Carter, Daniel Guidi and Su Carter coached 40 players which ranged from the ages of 8 to 64.
Participants were taken through fitness programmes as well as skills training and refereeing.
Players enjoyed a mini tournament which was held after lunch.
The top player was Brandon Everton (17), who is a junior Mpumalanga player for Secunda, while Roelf Smit, from Ermelo, was second.
Maresha Karels was the best new junior player and Kobie Venter was the best new adult player.
The best woman’s player was Elzaan du Toit and Anene Visser was the best junior girl.
