Safa conducts coaching workshop in eMbalenhle
Safa embarks on initiatives to address soccer development.
eMBALENHLE – South African Football Association (Safa) instructors are currently conducting D License/Grassroots Coaching Workshops for local soccer coaches from various clubs at the Thomas Nhlabathi Secondary School over weekends.
The last part of it will take place next weekend.
Another similar workshop is also taking place in Standerton.
Safa instructors are giving presentations on everything from match tactics, planning a training session and the latest trends on modern soccer to nutrition, psychology and the principles of leadership.
The workshop also forms part of the association’s development agency that is sponsored by Sasol worth R3-million to the Local Football Associations (LFAs) in the Gert Sibande and Fezile Dabi regions.
The agency is tasked with implementing Safa’s technical master plan called Vision 2022.
The plan aims at lifting South Africa’s national soccer teams into the top three in Africa and the top 20 in the world by 2022.
It seeks to do this by developing a national playing philosophy, training and licensing thousands of coaches, identifying and developing talent from an early age and organising structured competitions at LFA level.
