Mpumalanga bodybuilders strutt their stuff
Athletes prepares for provincial competition.
SECUNDA – The International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness gave new Mpumalanga athletes a platform to showcase their talent on Saturday, 11 April.
Natasha van der Walt said the bodybuilding show was a true reflection of athletes’ hard work and dedication to the sport.
The show was in preparation of the IFBB Mpumalanga Provincial competition to be held in August at eMalahleni.
“Body building is growing in Mpumalanga.
“Last year we had 24 athletes and this year 41 bodybuilders took part.”
She thanked the sponsors, including the Secunda Recreational Club and Lake Umuzi.
The overall winners in their various categories were:
Junior Men U/23 U/75kg: FungwayoNhlapo, Bafana Mkhwanazi and Lucky Cebehlulu.
Beach Bikini Novice: Sam van Vuuren, Lerice Cilliers and Nicole du Toit.
Fitness Bikini Novice: Nicky Nel, Twanette Hoffmann and Helen Senekal.
Fitness Bikini Open Line-up: Simphiwe Mathebula.
Body Fitness Novice: Rochelle Reyneke.
Senior Men U/70kg Novice: Miguel Molimo, Edricio Dombole and Brighton Dlamini.
Senior Men U80kg Novice: Molobelo Potego, Ivan Pienaar and George Mofokeng.
Senior Men U90kg Novice: Phumlani Mothenjwa, Jeremias Numanga and Dumisani Khumalo.
Senior Men U/90kg Novice: Hendry Twala.
Men’s Physique Novice: Carlos Figamo.
Senior Men’s U/75kg Open Line-up: Moldbela Glenn, Patrick Mango and Gilbert Ndubane.
Senior Mens O/75kg Open Line-up: Gideon Jaco de Villiers.
