Keo brings silver medal home

Keolebogile Mokolopo’s rope skipping team did well at the 2017 World Jump Rope Championship that took place in Orlando, Florida in America from 30 June to 10 July.

The team consisted of four gymnasts, Sonopo Tshilwane, Mbali Nyundu, Amanda Msongelwa and Keolebogile (Keo) Mokolopo.

They were competing with 800 competitors from 30 countries.

Keo and the team worked hard and obtained a silver and a bronze medal.

Keo took came third in the single rope freestyle category and second in the individual three minute speed competition.

This is the second competition that the team has brought home medals after competing at a world championship.

Sonopo won a bronze medal in the triple unders category at the 2016 FISAC/IRSF World Rope Skipping Championships held in Sweden.

Keo was also awarded a certificate of appreciation for hosting the World Jump Rope Federation (WJRF) Competition at the 2017 Arnold Classic, which was a great success in South Africa.

Sonopo Tshilwane came fifth with 30 seconds, Amanda Msongelwa came sixth and Mbali Nyundu seventh.

The South African Gymnastics Federation congratulated the team, especially Keo, for their outstanding performances at the 2017 World Jump Rope Championship.
